Clinton Lake Camping's website presented a family-owned campground and RV park near Republic, in the Tiffin area of northwest Ohio. It called the park a quiet family getaway in a peaceful setting, with fishing, swimming and plenty for families to do.
The site described two lakes: a swimming lake with a sandy beach for sunbathing and swimming, and a large catch-and-release fishing lake for a relaxing day by the water. Campers were invited to bring a kayak or canoe and enjoy the lake, and a well-stocked country store supplied the necessities.
Sites were spacious, each with a picnic table and fire pit, and forty were set aside for tent camping, with the promise that you could rough it without roughing it. A clean, modern bathhouse had hot showers, the park ran planned activities for families, and pets were welcome too.
The website placed the campground in the Tiffin area, a short trip from Lake Erie, south of Toledo and just south of Sandusky and Cedar Point. Its list of local attractions took in Cedar Point, the Tiffin Glass Museum, the Civil War Museum of Ohio, the Ritz Theatre, Hedges-Boyer Park and the Field of Dreams Drive-In.
